A $499 price tag for the iPad is anything but bad! And let’s not forget that this is Apple we’re talking about – they’re not known for their customer-friendly prices.
The iPad’s $499 tag came in quite a surprise. But that’s old news. In today’s news, rumor has it that Apple will be lowering the iPad’s price even more!
According to Credit Suisse analyst Bill Shope, Apple executives say that the price of the iPad will “nimble”. It depends on the demand.
Although the word’s still a rumor, it does make a lot of sense. Apple is known for dropping the prices of their products a few months after their launch. Given that the iPad will be shipping in March, people have more than a month to make up their mind. Meanwhile, those who are quite unsure what to do because of its price, would be encouraged to get the new product.
Most importantly though, let’s not forget about the market. Competitiros will turn the world upside down to figure out how to beat Apple’s price. Why wouldn’t Apple give them a harder time as they can already afford lowering it even before launch?
I’m quite sure someday the iPad will drop at around $150. But by the time it gets there, I’m pretty sure the iPad would have already been ripped off about a gazillion times.
Oh well. It’s a tough world.
